[Violinist Jamie Lee]
Yerim (Jamie) Lee was born on June 27, 1990 and began violin studies at
the age of seven. She made her first solo orchestra debut at the age of
ten with the Reading Symphony Orchestra in Boston. Since then, she has
performed solo repertoire with other local orchestras such as the
Independence Sinfonia, Radnor High School Orchestra, Delaware Country
Youth Orchestra, Kennett Symphony Orchestra, and the Temple University
Orchestra.
She has held principal positions in the Delaware County
Youth Orchestra, Radnor High School Orchestra, Pennsylvania Music
Educators Association District 12 and Region 6 Orchestra, the Temple
Youth Chamber Orchestra, and the Indiana University Orchestra
(University). In addition, she was selected as a musician in the
All-State Pennsylvania Orchestra. She currently holds the position of
principal second in the Chamber Orchestra at Indiana University.
In
2004, Lee was named a Starling Violin Scholarship recipient at Temple
Music Prep. In 2009, she was named a Barbara and David Jacobs
Scholarship recipient at Indiana University.
She has attended several
music festivals and schools including the International Strings Camp,
ENCORE School of Music, and the Kimmel Center Chamber Music Camp.
She
has played for and appeared on stage with musicians such as David Kim,
Joshua Bell, Jaime Laredo, Donald Weilerstein, and Sarah Chang. She has
performed in many musical venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the
Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia, the outdoor
stage at Longwood Gardens, and various University Halls.
She currently studies with Prof. Jaime Laredo at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Her previous teachers have included Soovin Kim, Yumi Ninomiya Scott, and Richard Amoroso.
